Adjunct (Part-Time) Faculty

South Texas College, as a world-class and premier institution of higher learning, is committed to academic rigor and student success. Our faculty provide high-quality academic experiences and support students as they work toward their educational goals.

Qualified applicants become part of an applicant pool and are available to Department Chairs for review and consideration. If considered for interview, Department Chairs will contact applicants directly. All applications will remain active for one year from submission date.

Adjunct faculty are employed on an as needed basis for a semester with no expectation of continued employment or property rights beyond the semester assignment.

Program Divisions

Dual Credit Faculty

South Texas College has one of the largest Dual Credit Programs in the State of Texas. The program was established in 1997 to provide dual credit opportunities to high school students. Since 2000, the program has served over 130,000 students within 21 school districts and 70 high school partners.

Dual Credit faculty must meet the same academic and professional credential requirements as regular full-time faculty employed by South Texas College.

Dual Credit Pay Rates

Compensation is set to $500.00 per section, per semester, and will be equally divided according to the semester/session length and paid monthly, as per the college’s payroll system.

Adjunct (Part-Time) Faculty

Complete the Adjunct/Dual Credit Application along with the supporting documents listed below. Completed applications must be submitted using one of the following methods:

  • Dropped off in person to South Texas College Office of Human Resources located at 2501 W. Pecan Blvd. Mcallen, Texas 78501
  • Emailed to HR_applications@southtexascollege.edu

Dual Credit Faculty

Refer to Appendix J of the Dual Credit Program Instructional and Quality Standards Manual for the step by step hiring process.

Complete the Adjunct/Dual Credit Application along with the supporting documents listed below. Completed applications must be submitted to the Dual Credit Programs department using one of the following methods:

  • Dropped off in person to South Texas College Dual Credit Programs Pecan Campus Building D–107A
  • Emailed to DCFApplications@southtexascollege.edu

Supporting Documents

  • Letter of intent (Cover Letter)
  • Current copy of resume/Curriculum Vitae
  • Five (5) professional references
  • Copies of academic transcripts (official transcripts will be required if hired)

Applicants submitting employment applications with foreign transcripts must provide transcript equivalency documentation from an approved evaluation service. The evaluation service must be a member of The National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).
